This year has been “different” to say the least. Many of us have been encouraged to stay home for a big part of 2020, which means we’re hanging out on our couch pretty much every night. But it’s not because we’re home that we can’t make the best out of it.
So here‘s what we are going to do; we will plan the perfect date night at home! Fortunately, simple things like great food and fine wine can still be enjoyed from the comfort of your living room. The best part? A home date-night can also be enjoyed with your significant other, your friend, or even just by yourself because we all deserve to treat ourselves once in a while.
Here’s how to plan the perfect at-home date night in 5 simple steps!
STEP ONE: Set the mood
Alter your home set up and really set the mood for date night. Simple additions like fresh local flower arrangements, candles, and even new decor accessories can really help transform your home for a special night.
STEP TWO: Outfit
Second, step out of your usual home loungewear and step into an outfit that will make you feel good. It‘s the perfect occasion to wear your new tights or thigh high socks with a knit dress for a trendy look that’s still cozy.
STEP THREE: Supper time
Next, plan something special and fun for supper. I would highly suggest making a pizza! You can customize your pizza and put as much, or as little effort into as you please. You can make pizza dough from scratch or buy frozen dough (no judging here, it‘s your night), and then choose your own toppings. Make sure you have enough snacks on hand for the night and don’t forget to plan dessert.
STEP FOUR: Movie
While your pizza is in the oven, go ahead and pick a movie to watch that you’re excited about. If you do not have Netflix, you can rent a movie on Youtube without having to leave your house. Once you pick the movie, get cozy with lots of blankets and pillows, and get ready to settle down with your pizza and drinks.
STEP FIVE: Dance party
After your movie, don’t let the fun end! If you are with your significant other, put on the cheesiest song you can think of (I would recommend Lady in Red), shut some lights, and slow dance to it. It will bring a smile to your face, guaranteed! And if you are alone or with friends, go ahead and find yourself some good karaoke on Youtube. Whether you choose to dance or sing the night away, just be sure to only worry about the dishes in the morning.
